Coach Lane

Sligo
25/07/2026: We arrived in Sligo late in the afternoon on a monday, and landed in this lovely place. Despite only having the bar menu available on a monday, there was a rich variety of options and great food! We loved the homemade bread, that also had a gluten-free option. The food was delicious, we had pasta, burgers and a tenderloin steak. The steak was ordered medium rare, but served well-done. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, they even let us withdraw some cash to pay for the parking nearby.
07/07/2026: The bread is to die for! I would highly recommend. My partner is gluten intolerant and the gluten free version of their home made bread is incredible for a gluten free bread. He had the veggie nachos and it was very under whelming, very plain. Mash was okay. I had the seafood pie and it was good. Fish was good quality - I didn't expect bones in the fish so be careful (but that doesn't impact my rating, I would just have liked to be warned). Staff was lovely

A Little Bird Told Me Coffee Shop

Mullingar
20/07/2026: The cake we had was delicious and the atmosphere was really nice. But we ordered a frappe and got an iced coffee, my sister ordered a water and they forgot about it, so we had to ask another time for it, the wait wasn’t bad but it was quite long even if the shop wasn’t busy and the toilet door was stuck so my sister was stuck in there.
19/07/2026: Bring enough time, it’s no fast food.

The Driftwood

Rosses point
02/05/2026: Our one-night stay in room 6 was very pleasant. We did also enjoy the dinner at the restaurant — the burgers were decent, and the waterfront view was truly beautiful. The quirky artwork felt like a cherry on top.
30/04/2026: This review is about the Driftwood's restaurant/bar: We had a light lunch here and sat outside with great views of Sligo Bay and Knocknarea in the distance. The sandwiches were delicious and the waiter deserved a medal for coping with a large group of hikers who arrived unannounced. During low season (up until the beginning of May), they only open for lunch from Thursday to Sunday. Highly recommended.

Foodworks

Kilkenny
28/07/2026: Maeve and Co. provide an incredible service that always keeps us coming back - their also one of the very few places to open super early on a Sunday which is great when the little ones are up and about.
19/07/2026: My family and I had breakfast at Foodworks this morning, Sunday 19th July 2026. My daughter had the French Toast with Bacon, my son had the Eggs Florentine and I had the Vegetarian Breakfast. This was no half hearted attempt at Vegetarian! Everything on this plate shone on its own and also worked with everything else. Properly seasoned mushrooms, beautiful poached eggs, avocado cream, grilled plantain on yellow courgette, a very tasty bean cassoulet and a lightly spiced bhaji with some crispy bread - it was a vegetarian feast! The service was friendly and fast but not rushed. This was our second visit and we'll definitely be back.

Side Door Restaurant

Dublin
20/07/2026: I needed to start my day early to continue my adventure in Ireland. I opened Google Maps to find coffee places, restaurants that are open very early. The Stage Door Cafe is a walking distance from the Wellington Hotel. The owner is a charismatic person , the food is very good and the interior design is appealing. Vhuntermassage LLC

Adam & Eve

Rush
29/07/2026: Amazing place, recommend, coffee is fab and food is sooo nice 5star!!!
07/07/2026: The Coffee: The baristas here genuinely know their craft. The espresso is perfectly extracted, rich, smooth, and never bitter making their flat whites, Americanos, and cappuccinos an absolute delight. They consistently use high-quality beans, and it shows in every cup. Food and Treats: Alongside the excellent coffee, they offer a fantastic selection of freshly baked goods. The pastries are flaky and buttery, and their savory options and sandwiches are perfect for a light, satisfying lunch. Atmosphere: The interior is cozy, modern, and highly welcoming. It possesses a great community feel where locals and visitors alike can feel right at home. Service: The staff are incredibly friendly, efficient, and always serve with a smile, even during the busy morning rush. Final Verdict: If you find yourself in Rush, a stop at Adam & Eve is an absolute must. It is a brilliant cafe that perfectly pairs top-tier coffee with a warm, welcoming local vibe. Highly recommended for a perfect weekend treat or a daily pick-me-up.

The Rolling Donut Kiosk

Dublin
24/07/2026: These donuts were absolutely delicious! Fresh, soft, and full of flavor, they were a real treat from the first bite. The texture was perfect — light, fluffy, and beautifully prepared, with just the right amount of sweetness. You can really taste the quality and care that goes into making them. Whether you enjoy classic flavors or something more creative, these donuts are a great choice for a sweet moment of happiness. A simple but unforgettable dessert experience. Highly recommended for anyone who loves fresh, tasty, and perfectly made donuts!

Sage

Westport
17/07/2026: Surprisingly disappointed with Sage, particularly given the glowing reviews. The mixed seafood appetiser was good. However my main dish was the 'slow-cooked pork belly' item. It was grotesquely over-salted, tasting of nothing but salt. Mentioning this elicited a shrug of the shoulders. For the dessert, I asked if a different flavour of ice-cream (listed with another menu item) might be substituted for that expected with my choice, a home-made baklava dish - 'no' came back the answer. I would not visit this unsympathetic and rather complacent restaurant again.
13/06/2026: Love it here, favourite restaurant in Ireland

House of plates

Castlebar legal
10/07/2026: We had a fantastic family dinner at House of Plates in Castlebar and it exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the restaurant had a warm, intimate atmosphere that immediately made for a relaxed and enjoyable evening. The dining room is beautifully presented and strikes a perfect balance between being elegant without feeling overly formal. The food was undoubtedly the highlight of the evening. Every dish was beautifully presented with real attention to detail, and the flavours throughout the meal were exceptional. You can tell there is genuine care and creativity behind every plate. We especially loved the baked cod, which was cooked perfectly and packed with flavour, and the steak, which was tender, rich and expertly prepared. The scallops were outstanding, cooked beautifully and complemented by fantastic accompaniments, while the duck was another memorable course that everyone at the table thoroughly enjoyed. Every member of our family commented on how much they loved their meal, which says a lot when everyone orders something different. One thing that really stood out was the generosity. The portion sizes were excellent, particularly considering the quality of the food. We were also pleasantly surprised by the thoughtful chef’s treats that arrived throughout the meal, adding an extra touch of luxury and making the whole experience feel special. The additional side dishes served with the mains were another unexpected bonus that we hadn’t anticipated and were very much appreciated. The wine pairings listed on the menu deserve a special mention. They were exceptionally well chosen and complemented each course perfectly, enhancing the flavours without overpowering them. It’s clear that a lot of thought has gone into creating a complete dining experience rather than simply serving great food. The value for money is remarkable. A menu offering two courses for €55 or three courses for €62 is incredibly competitive considering the quality of the ingredients, the presentation, the additional chef’s surprises and the overall standard of cooking. It genuinely feels like you’re receiving a fine dining experience at a very fair price. If I was to offer any constructive feedback, it would only be on a couple of very small points. The lamb was slightly more cooked than we would have preferred, and while all of the staff were polite, the two younger members of the team could perhaps bring a little more enthusiasm and warmth to the service. These were very minor observations and certainly didn’t take away from what was otherwise a wonderful evening. Overall, House of Plates is a fantastic addition to Castlebar’s dining scene. Exceptional food, beautiful presentation, generous portions, excellent wine pairings, thoughtful little extras throughout the meal and outstanding value for money all combine to create a memorable dining experience. We left already talking about what we’d order on our next visit, which is always the best sign. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend House of Plates to anyone looking for a special meal, and we’ll definitely be back.

Geralds Delicatessan & Restaurant

Skibbereen
31/07/2026: A fantastic place to grab some food and eat it in the park. Very friendly and everything was delicious.
13/06/2026: The staff here are top class, always friendly, helpful and polite. The only thing that beats them is the food which is absolutely on fire, 100%+ every time , a tad on the pricey side but I don't care, just take all of my money, I've been in twice a day on occasion.

O'Sheas Merchant

Dublin
09/08/2026: Amazing pub with delicious food and atmosphere opposite the ‘oldest pub in Ireland’ but that was rammed so came here and best decision made it was lush
09/08/2026: We ordered fish and chips and a Caesar salad with chicken. The best fish and chips we had in Dublin. The pub is very nice and in a great location. 100% recommended. Much better than at other well-known and more famous places in Dublin.
