The best restaurants

16/07/2025: We had Happy Dough Lucky cater for our post-wedding day celebrations in Kilkee, and honestly, they were brilliant. The setup on the day ran really smoothly, and their team couldn’t have been nicer — friendly, relaxed, and handled everything with ease. Gearoid was really helpful in the lead-up, offering advice and suggestions that made the planning feel easy and straightforward. Watching the pizzas being made fresh on-site added a lovely buzz, and it gave the whole evening a bit of atmosphere. The pizza itself was absolutely delicious — loads of guests mentioned how much they enjoyed it, and there was a great variety to choose from. It really stood out from more typical catering options and added something special to the day. It suited the vibe of the event perfectly and felt a bit different, in the best way. We’d book them again in a heartbeat.

15/07/2025: Hi Gearoid, Just a few words of thanks for catering for our daughter’s University Graduation Party for 50+ people. Everyone said the pizzas were absolutely fabulous; your staff were very friendly and there was a great atmosphere around the Pizza Truck. The muffins & ice-cream went down a treat too. I loved the fact that the left-over pizzas were cooked and needless to say they were eaten later that night!! If I were to do it all again, I would have no hesitation in having Happy Dough Lucky Pizza back. Kind regards, Marguerite

16/08/2025: Top location and awesome breakfast.

15/08/2025: Lovely hotel, I was in the modern section and the room was spacious. Breakfast is quite busy and there is only one coffee machine so that can be a little slow. Staff are great friendly and helpful. Dinners are lovely very well cooked and presented. Overall I would recommend a lot.

06/08/2025: I love this pub and the traditional Irish music. If you want to listen to pure Irish music, at 18:30 you can enjoy it.

31/07/2025: Take some time to be encouraged to put your cell phone away, then meet and talk to people. Bartenders here are fantastic. I prefer the spot by the window or sitting at the bar.

26/06/2025: Friendly staff. Friendly crowd. Great whiskey selection. Great stour. A real traditional Irish pub. You could be in any village or town in Cork when you step in there.

19/08/2025: My parents have an annual pass so I visit regularly when Im in Clare. Strongly recommend for any day weather is looking a bit rainy ( or not up for traffic to coast). Never far from shelter and fantastic way to spend a day! Beautiful gardens. Great cafe with great staff, although Brambles took over cafe they have kept original local staff. They are so friendly and brighten everybody's day. Lots of inside and outside seating. They also sell plants at reasonable prices. New Kilkenny gift shop that also has local pictures has opened on site. Well maintained paths outside grounds through the woods with options for longer or shorter walks. There is a Park run in woods on Saturdays Annual pass for gardens is only 35 and 10% discount in cafe. Worth it for anyone living or visiting Clare regularly. Everything other than walled garden is free to enter so can still enjoy the rest if on a budget

31/07/2025: Absolutely appalled from our experience. On the 31/7/25 I am a health care professional working for people with intellectual disabilities and we came all the way from cork to go for dinner here on our road trip. One of the people I support uses a wheelchair. No ramps in bar was the first thing I noticed. The person I support asked me to support her attend the ladies toilet. The ladies toilet is not accessible at all for a person in a wheelchair which is a disgrace. Me and the person I support were quite stressed wondering what we could do as she needed the toilet. Two lovely ladies who were customers saw the stress we were under and asked did we need help that the male toilet had more space for a wheelchair that they would stand outside the male toilet while we use it. The lady who uses a wheelchair was so embarrassed she had to use the males toilet which also smelled so strong of urine and was NOT clean. She felt this experience was totally demoralizing and said she didn't want to eat in a place where she could not use a toilet a basic need!!. It's so sad to see this in this day and age. Thank god for the two lovely ladies who were customers helping us. Staff were NOT helpful and the manager just said ya it's been an issue for people with disabilities for years. Well then the place should be shut down because it doesn't cater for people at all with disabilities. I don't even know why they have one disabled parking space when inside is a disgrace. I have working 10 years supporting people with disabilities and have never come across such an awful restaurant/bar experience.

26/07/2025: Highly recommended! The burgers and pizzas at Mamma Rosa's Pizzeria are simply fantastic! Freshly prepared, great flavor, and excellent quality. You can tell the food is cooked with love. The service is friendly and attentive – you immediately feel welcome.

22/07/2025: Got 3 pizzas over a weekend. All 3 were exceptional. Queue was out the door and im not surprised. Must be the best pizza in bundoran. Reasonably priced for the quality. Will be back again on the next visit to bundoran.
